Browser at 1024x768 with 960 Grid

Olivier Obuchowski writes:

This is a browser sized for a 1024*768 resolution.

It is made so that the "real" space available (without the scrolling bar) is 998 pixel wide.

This correspond to the Web Safe Area as described on this website: http://www.designerstoolbox.com/designresources/safearea/

I also included a 16 columns grid (960.gs) which fits perfectly in it.

Whenever I start a new web mockup, I just start with this, ungroup the grid (so that the other components snap to it) and block everything.

It saves me a bit of time each and every time and I’m sure my mockups fits correctly.

This is great, thanks.

Sorry, excuse my ignorance, but do you mean you ungroup your 16 col grid from the rest of the items?

Hi, Richard. Yes, I think that's what Olivier meant. You would have to use this as a regular set of elements rather than as a symbol, however, so you would lose that capability if you ungrouped.

Pardon my ignorance. But apart from downloading this, how exactly can I design a browser window that fits to the standard sizes?

Shankar, you can select the browser window, and in the property inspector, change the values in the size input to whatever you like, example 1024x768.
